John MacDonald co-founded TheGuarantors, also known as the guarantors, in 2014. Prior to starting TheGuarantors, a rental real estate market solutions provider, John MacDonald established MusicianU, an online content sharing platform that allows both professional and amateur musicians to easily communicate and collaborate with one another.

Music collaborations have long entertained audiences with quality songs and unique blends of different genres. Some of the most notable collaborations in modern music include Queen and David Bowie’s “Under Pressure,” and “Walk This Way” by Aerosmith and Run D.M.C. Of course, 2019 brought a slew of new collaborations for music fans to enjoy.

Few collaborations in history can rival the success of “Old Town Road.” The country-rap crossover by Lil Nas X has quickly become one of the most successful viral songs of all time, hitting number one on numerous charts around the world. After the original song reached number 19 on the US country charts, however, it was removed because it failed to meet the chart’s criteria for a country song.

Soon after, country star Billy Ray Cyrus collaborated with Lil Nas X on a remix, which spent a record-breaking 19 consecutive weeks at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Further, the remix owns the top three single-day streaming records in the history of digital music.

Other notable collaborations from 2019 include “Medellin” by Madonna and Maluma, “Gone” by Charli XCX and Christine and the Queens, and “Late Night Feelings” by producer Mark Ronson and Lykke Li.
